Dragon dolls are hot in overseas markets

The Year of the Dragon begins from Jan 23 . People from overseas countries like Ukraine, Russia, and White Russia, has been immersed themselves into the world of the dragon
dolls.
The foreign trade orders about the zodiac animal dolls are mainly made in May and June of the year, said Lou Yuexian, a doll vendor in Yiwu International Trade Market. Most of her orders come from Ukraine, Russia and White Russia, and the most popular zodiac animal dolls are plushy dolls.
Memories from Maryna, a foreign trader who has been in Yiwu for 7 years, show that the Ukrainian are familiar with and in favor of the twelve Chinese horoscope animals. Comparing with spending the Chinese New Year together with our Chinese people, the Ukrainian prefer buying dolls, pendants, necklaces and other accessories in dragon shape.
"Most of our people know which animal sign they belong to, meanings of these twelve animals are nothing unusual to us. If we want to buy something as the birthday gift to a friend, the accessories connecting to the animal year of this friend, will be the favourite choice." She said, adding that almost all of these products come from the Yiwu market.
"My export trade company in Yiwu has taken in a huge amount of orders of dragon dolls from Ukraine in July and August in 2011 . After three to four months of crash production, the dragon dolls will finally hit shelves at the beginning of November in the local supermarkets."
